We moved to Holdings Farm in September 2004. I remember it well as Charlie was only 9 months old and there was no sign of Xander. We spent a year living in a building site as we slowly changed the interior of the house. Over the years we discussed a more substantial extension. Initially we thought putting a second story on was the way to go, but eventually decided we did not want the disruption that would cause.
In September 2016 we finally agreed on a plan; we would build an extension on the side of the existing building. We obtained planning permission in April 2017. We spent two years choosing a building method and a builder (or a number of builders to be more accurate).
And that gets us to 16th September 2019, Day 1 of the build.
