I spent a large part of the day fitting gravel boards and the frame for the new fence. Horizontal slats will be fitted eventually. It may take a while though as I need to paint them before I fit them and it’s too cold and wet to do that outside. I will miss the sheep…

The groundworks are finally approaching their end. Today, the hardcore under the structural slab was flattened, the concrete pads for the steelwork finished and there was a bit of a tidy up.

It’s been a few days since I have posted, but things have been moving. Today, some more brick and blocks went in. Over the last few days, work has continued on the drainage. The rear soak away has been connected to the pipework for the ACO drain and guttering.

More work on the drains. Gravel boards installed on the fence posts. And BT have fixed the telephone line again.

The blockwork went up today. It is amazing how quickly a good brickie can work. The rest of the old fence has gone and the holes dug for the new fence posts.

Did you know it was 15 years ago today that we moved into Holdings Farm? Today has been mostly about digging the last if the pits for the concrete pads and levelling hardcore. Work has started on replacing the old fence.

It’s raining. A lot. They’ve managed to mostly clear the ground ready for the slab and marked out for the blockwork. I am not sure if a lot else will get done today.
