More trenches for the footings. Unfortunately they need to go a bit deeper. Hopefully, concrete will go in today before the rain starts. And the rain held off…

Not a lot happening today, but OpenReach have just fixed the telephone cable! Below are some lovely photos of drying concrete. Exciting stuff.

Today saw the footings (or at least most of them) filled with concrete. A lot of concrete. The patio and path to the shed are also taking shape. Whilst the power cable has been repaired, we are still without a telephone line and hence broadband. Apparently OpenReach will come and fix it sometime in the…

The day started well, with work on digging the footings continuing. Things took a turn for the worse when the digger cut through the BT cable and slit part of the power cable to the house.

Marking out for the footings and concrete pads. And the digging of the footings starts. A 2.1m hole ready for a lot of concrete!

The site clearance continues, with most of the day spent levelling the area.  The ground under the new patio has been stripped, as has the path to the “shed”. The large hole is for the soak away.

Not quite the start as I have already demolished various bits and pieces and taken upon the patio. Ready for the digger tomorrow though.
